WHAT IS THE NIGHT WORLD SERIES?
If you have not read a Night World book, you may want to read the information below, which attempts to explain what the Night World series is about.

The Night World books are fictional works of the supernatural genre, written by the American author, Lisa Jane Smith. The series has one central concept – that, amongst the ordinary, human world, there exists an underground society known as the Night World. The Night World is made up of vampires, witches, shape-shifters, and other creatures of darkness. These Night People live amid the ordinary world. They are extraordinarily beautiful – and irresistible – to humans.

The creatures of the Night World are bound by secret laws. These laws bind them from telling humans about the Night World and from falling in love with them. Breaking Night World law is punishable by death and the Night World series are stories of what happens when Night People discover they have human soulmates.

There are nine individual books in the Night World series and each book is about a different couple and their battle against the Night World and sometimes even amongst themselves!

Below is an excerpt that has been taken from the Night World books. This is how the publishers of the Night World series describe what the books are all about:

‘The Night World isn’t a place. It’s all around us. It’s a secret society of vampires, werewolves, witches, and other creatures of darkness that live among us. They’re beautiful and deadly and irresistible to humans. Your high school teacher could be one, and so could your boyfriend.

The Night World laws say it’s okay to hunt humans. It’s okay to toy with their hearts. It’s even okay to kill them. There are only two things you can’t do with them: 1) Never let them find out the Night World exists; and 2) Never fall in love with them. These are stories about what happens when the rules get broken.’
